Dear friend,

I am learning what it means to be loyal and faithful.

As your friend, I must draw from God’s abundant grace to love you more in my actions than in my words, to celebrate your successes as though they are my own, to be a conduit for divine blessing in your life, to wipe your tears if you cry, to stand by you when you smell of roses and when you are in a season that is marred by scandal, to pray you through, to refuse to judge unrighteously, even where I strongly disagree, and to lock your secrets in the same safe that hides my own. I must ultimately seek God’s agenda, and not my own, for your life and for our friendship. “A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.”

I commit, by God’s grace, to doing this to the best of my ability.

Your friend,

Pea
